I've been working on my LARP resume. I think it's complete.

If you have a costume request for Intercon, please list:
Game
Time Slot
Specific item OR
Costuming hint

If you have the following to lend and think it might fit me, I'd be obliged:
Any 1700s dress of relative classiness
Port Hidalgo
Saturday night

NOTES: If you're borrowing costuming from me, unless you are significant travel distance away from me, (like, over a 45 minute drive), then I expect you to make an effort to pick the costuming up at my house before the con. My luggage last year was ridiculous.

If a piece is being borrowed by more than one person, the person who needs it first must pick it up from my apartment in Somerville. Unless you're coming from really far away. If the piece is particularly small, I may make an exception and agree to pack it.

If you're borrowing something from me, I need you to return it as soon as your game is over, in case someone needs it for the next game.  If you're the last person borrowing a costume, I may ask you to return it to my house instead of at the con, because again, luggage. If you are returning it to my house, I expect it within a week.

If you can't work within those constraints, I may not be able to help you.

EDIT: Because it seems this wasn't clear:

NON-LOCALS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE PICK-UP/DROP-OFF EXPECTATION. (I'm not shouting, I just want to draw your eyes to this first and foremost.)

If you live far away and want to request costuming, I will not make you pick up from or return to my house. I may not be able to bring the item you want, if it takes up a lot of room (like a large or oddly shaped prop that will not lie flat in my suitcase), but if you are requesting an item of clothing, or something that folds flat, I will bring it.
The pick up/drop off rule is for locals. Last year I packed a lot of clothing for people who lived in the Boston Metro area. If I had only packed stuff for the people who were far away, I would have had a lot more room in my suitcase.

I still need you to return the item to me directly after the game though, or at least before the next game period begins.

Dear friends,

Once upon a time I played in this game called Stars of Al-Ashtara, written by the same intrepid team who brought us Redemption, Elanthia, and who are soon to bring us Venezia.

Stars of Al-Ashtara was the first LARP I've played in that was set in an Arabian Nights setting. And oh, what a LARP. Plots! Intrigue! Danger! Romance! Wonders! INCREDIBLE production values! There was a whole bazaar of tents set up, there were lighting changes as the time of day changed, it was lovely, I adored it. There is so much else I want to say, but I don't want to spoil anything.

Here's the blurb from their website, www.lovers-madmen.com:

Just beyond the next dune on the Eastern horizon rises the gleaming city of Al-Ashtara, renowned for its exotic wares and exquisite tastes. There are whispers, however, that the Caliphate might be starting to unravel - a fact which has not escaped the notice of those who wish to take advantage of the weakening rule. Friend and foe alike cast their eyes towards the night skies, looking to read their destinies in the stars...and perhaps find the means to change their own fate.

Enter a world where allegiances shift like the desert sands; where the schemes are as intricate as the silks; and in the bustling marketplace, the only thing more elusive than the sweet smell of incense on the desert breeze is the band of thieves slipping between the merchants' stalls. The Stars of Al-Ashtara illuminate the enchantment, mystery, and danger that await you in an Arabian bazaar-where everyone has a secret.

Stars of Al-Ashtara is a traditional theater-styled larp of intrigue, romance, politics, secrets, wonder, danger, and more that brings together people of all walks of life in a setting that becomes more dangerous under the shadows of night.

Well, Stars of Al-Ashtara IS RUNNING AGAIN! At Brandeis, on Sunday, December 4th from 3-7pm.

If you're itching to get your LARP on, if you missed this the first couple of times round, if you aren't sure you can wait until Night 1002 at Intercon to wear your favorite harem pants, then please go sign up for this game. I had a pretty freaking amazing time, and I have loved every game this team has written.  Hell, I'd play it again if I could.

Sign up link and more info on the setting here: matthematics.ath.cx/ashtara/signup.html

Please feel free to repost all the places. I am going to crosspost this to the Brandeis LARP LJ Comm as well.

I can't remember if I've promised certain costume pieces to people for Intercon.

If you've asked me to borrow costuming, or you'd like to ask me to borrow costuming, please post it in the comments here so I have a centralized place to keep track of costuming.

I'm going to date this to March 4th so it will be near the top of my posts until Intercon.

Comments screened, to protect characters with secret identities.

Soooo, [livejournal.com profile] laura47  is likely unable to get out of work early on Friday. Is anyone going to 1897 that has an open seat in their car and is leaving earlier in the day?  I can get to Waltham if the only rides left are leaving from there...

You have a 80% chance of surviving a T-Rex Attack

You have a very good chance of surviving a T-Rex attack. You are very smart and know how to survive in the wild. You would be first in line if there was ever a real Jurassic Park.

Take this quiz at QuizGalaxy.com

Also, I'm mondo tired and I don't know why. Also, I want to know where people are living next year. Also... I totally seriously JUST forgot what the third also was.... OH!

So, LARPers, what games are you playing at Festival? THE WORLD DEMANDS TO KNOW. Well, actually, I demand to know, but that's good enough, right?

There are a couple of time slots WHERE I JUST CANNOT CHOOSE. Really, are we surprised? Me? Not being able to make a decision? Never.

Murrrr. Super mondo intenso cleaning time now, then brainstorming anime paper ideas, then if possible, early bed.
